Top 10 Best-Selling Music Albums of All Time

The list of top 10 music albums below is based on the number of albums sold worldwide. Michael Jackson's Thriller is the best-selling music album in the world. It is the best-selling album in the USA and currently the most-sold music album of all time. Thriller was released in 1982 by Epic Records. There are 7 singles from the album that went to the top 10 ranks on the USA Billboard Hot 100 music charts. Billie Jean, Beat It, and Thriller are my personal favorite tracks in the album. According to the Grammy Award history, Thriller is the second most honored albums, having won a total of 8 Grammy Awards. Pink Floyd, one of my favorite bands, has The Dark Side of the Moon album as the second best-selling music album of all time in the world. The Dark Side of the Moon holds the record for the Most Weeks on the Billboard 200 music chart. With a total of 773 consecutive weeks (15 years) on the Billboard 200 music chart, The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd remains to be the album with the longest staying power in music charts. Recently, in the week of March 24, 2012, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album was at position #137 on the said week in the U.S. Billboard 200 music chart. Totalling all the weeks (continous and discontinous), the album has an unbeaten record of 800 weeks (15 years & 5 months) on the chart. It is considered to be one of the greatest rock albums of all time. The track 'Time' is my personal favorite in that album. AC/DC's Back in Black album is the third highest-selling album of all time. It also holds the record title of the best-selling hard rock album in the world. The track 'Back in Black' (which is on side two) is my personal favorite.
